The Tricity (Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot) has strong academic centres and is capable of attracting highly qualified employees. It can offer a wide range of attractively located investment sites which mean that the share in Gdańsk industry of such sectors as electronics, telecommunication, IT and production of cosmetics as well as pharmaceuticals is increasing. Project Citiregio II was partly financed by the funds from the European Regional Development Fund and realised within the framework of the programme Interreg III B CADSES. It was based on the partnership of six countries (Germany, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Czech Republic and Poland). Poland was represented by Gdańsk Entrepreneurs’’s Foundation and Gdańsk City Council.
